A jubilee concert with material from a legendary rap album, a king of melancholic electronic, an artist with a killer repertoire and an exceptionally self-ironic line-up. We know the first artists of this year’s WROsound festival.
The Wrocław event celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the organisers have prepared a line-up with special concerts, the return of favourite artists and a strong representation of the local music scene. In the first announcement, we got to know the first five artists. A special event will be a performance by Małpa who, to mark his anniversary will play the iconic album Kilka numerów o czymś, released 15 years ago. The first artist returning to WROsound is Christian Löffler. The German musician performed at the festival in 2016 as part of the closing weekend of the European Capital of Culture. In 2024, he will promote material from his new album A Life, which he has announced for April. The band Lordofon will be responsible for the catchy hits with self-ironic, bittersweet and strongly nostalgic lyrics. Their second album Passé, full of indie rock, punk and rap, has made waves with audiences as well as critics. On the main stage we will also see Kasia Lins the chameleon artist, who is still touring to promote her latest album OMEN. Her performances are atmospheric shows, and in her new embodiment Kasia presents femininity in the edition of femme fatale.
The first line-up on the “Tak Brzmi Wrocław” stage will be the Jeszcze duo, that quite recently earned their Wrocław passport. Klaudia and Patryk’s trademarks are ephemeral vocals and Polish, romantic lyrics subtly combined with strong bass, nostalgic melodies and fast tempo.
Strefa Kultury Wrocław will continue to hold the event in the spirit of less waste. These activities will include: keeping print to a minimum, donating advertising materials for upcycling, serving free tap water, planting green scenery or building it simply from rubbish, driving zero-emission cars, supporting sustainable transport, reducing plastic and planting forests.
WROsound 2024 will be held from 19 to 20 July on the green square in front of Wrocław Impart at ul. Mazowiecka 17.
