Coals is a young duet from Silesia, featuring Katarzyna Kowalczyk and Łukasz Rozmysłowski. After being around for just 6 months, the band was invited to the OFF Festival, during which Kasia and Łukasz had the opportunity to open the first videosession in Poland for the legendary KEXP station. In the course of the last few months, the band could be regularly seen at international festivals all over the globe (Positivus Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, LOFTAS, Tune In Tel Aviv, BUSH Budapest and MENT Ljubljana). In November 2016 Coals performed at the Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik, where they recorded a second session for KEXP at the famous Kex Hostel.

After a long period during which they presented their skills at numerous festivals in Poland and abroad, Coals finally decided to release their first album. Tamagotchi was released on October 13 and it was a simultaneous release in Poland, Germany and Switzerland. The premiere of the album is combined with a concert tour. After touring our neighbouring countries, including Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia, in November and December the band will perform in nine cities in Poland.

The Tamagotchi LP is a very modern album, even though it is overflowing with nostalgia. Inspirations drawn from folk music and MTV clips are combined with the most current genres of hip-hop. The bass instrumental beats filled with hi-hat sounds by Łukasz Rozmysłowski serve as a great background for Katarzyna Kowalczyk to present her elven voice and shy raps. The end result is emotionally distanced and introverted music for everybody, for whom the best party means an evening at home with YouTube and the best rave is the one in their own heads.
