THE SOUND OF WROCŁAW

For years, WROsound was a festival that – true to its name – answered one core question: what does Wrocław sound like? Our journey began during the winter within the walls of Impart, where we championed local artists, exclusive premieres and experimental collaborations.

As the festival evolved, we opened our doors to international acts, while the programming remained in the hands of curator deeply embedded in the local music scene e.g. Marcin Cichy (Skalpel), EABS.

In 2018, Strefa Kultury took the festival outdoors – first to the Impart backyard, then to the plaza that has since become our flagship space. Each subsequent edition has furthered the “urban jungle” concept: a creative crossroads where rap, jazz experiments, electronics, and alternative sounds collide.

We have long built WROsound on a foundation of “less waste” and tangible ecological action – planting forests, upcycling branding materials, and minimizing the amount of printed materials. With every year, the festival becomes more accessible and inclusive. We are proud recipients of the “Bez barier” (Withouth barriers) award, recognizing our commitment to an open cultural space.

A NEW CHAPTER – KUBA WIĘCEK

In 2015, Kuba Więcek stepped in as Artistic Director, launching a fresh era and a revamped formula for the festival. His vision moves away from rigid genres, focusing instead on the most exciting and relevant movements in music today. We don’s just follow trends; we define them.

The 2026 edition continues the evolution. The program is going global – nearly half of our artists will travel from USA, Africa, and every corner of Europe.

We are also inviting NGOs and institutions from across Poland to help co-create the event. They will form a vital, alternative part of the festival grounds, acting as hubs for knowledge and inspiration through workshops, animations, and deep dives into culture, ecology, and social activism.

New for 2026: The panel stage, which is an interactive space to meet Kuba Więcek, the performers, and the creative minds behind the program. It is a place for open dialogue, tough questions, and a closer look at the philosophy that drives WROsound.
